Maxi Gomez and Rodrigo Bentancur. Maxi Gomez has been earning rave reviews in La Liga this season. A young forward who has been scoring regularly at a cheap price is usually a no-brainer investment, however, it is important to note that he has been linked with a move to China. He says he's happy at Celta Vigo but it is worth keeping an eye on. Rodrigo Bentancur has similarly earnt his plaudits this season. The 20-year-old has got plenty of game time recently and is showing he is not just a player for the future but also now.

With the bulk of the added competition from new players coming from defenders and midfielders it is no surprise to see the median score rise for both. Time will tell whether the slight drop in the median winning score for forwards is as a result of good form from forwards pre IPOs or bad form since. However, this does show how forwards are by far the least affected position by the added competition from new players. The most eye-catching statistic is the rise in the median winning score for midfielders from 181 to 222.5, emphasising that the midfielders you invest in really need to be capable of some very high peak scores.

Which Players Score these Peak Scores
