ROI Analysis 19/11/17-19/02/18

We have assessed ROI in the last 3 months on a per player basis. We took the buy price of each player on the 19/11/17 and 19/02/18, added dividends during this period and derived ROI. Note profit could have been further maximised by selling players at their peak during this period. We have then used this data to create a number of informative graphs.

The analysis shows the incredible growth that has taken place on the Index over the last 3 months and highlights some of the patterns on the types of players that have profited most.

RETURN ON INVESTMENT BY PLAYER

This shows every player's return on investment assuming you bought on 19/11 and still hold. Hover over the ROI figure for more information.

RETURN ON INVESTMENT BY POSITION

Great to see such high average ROI figures for all positions over the last 3 months. Interesting to see that average returns are highest for forwards but there is also the greatest variability on returns for the position. Whilst average returns of 8.8% are extremely impressive as an overall average it is once you look at how this increases when filtering for players with high PB averages that you can fully appreciate the incredible potential of returns on the Index.

RETURN ON INVESTMENT BY PRICE

We see a lot of debate about whether returns are better on cheaper or more expensive players on the index. Over the last 3 months, we were unable to find a statistically significant relationship between price and ROI. This shows that there are opportunities across the index and you shouldn't limit your opportunities by only purchasing players at one price point.

DIVIDENDS VS CAPITAL APPRECIATION

No surprise to see the positive relationship between the two and it highlights that those who win dividends are also the most likely to rise in price. The graph also allows you to see the players that have won dividends over the last 3 months but still haven't risen in price.
